Product Overview

This auto-reset overheat thermostat provides high limit safety protection for commercial gas fryers by automatically shutting off the appliance when oil temperature exceeds 218C (425F). Unlike manual reset versions, this thermostat automatically re-engages the circuit once the temperature drops back to a safe level, making it suitable for equipment where automatic recovery is designed into the control system. It features an 8mm probe, 940mm capillary tube, and a 1/4 inch tank gland. It is a direct replacement for the Robertshaw reference LCCM21036000 and is widely used in Imperial CIFS-40 and CISF40 commercial fryer models.

Signs You Need To Replace This Part

  • Fryer trips out during service and does not automatically restart as expected
  • Oil overheats with no cut-out occurring - thermostat has failed to operate
  • Auto reset function is cycling repeatedly, indicating a temperature regulation problem
  • Probe is corroded, bent, or the capillary shows signs of damage or leaking

Auto Reset vs Manual Reset — Key Difference

This is an auto-reset thermostat, meaning once the oil temperature drops back to a safe level the circuit closes automatically without any manual intervention. Manual reset thermostats — such as the PP10084 or Henny Penny 16738 — require an engineer to press a reset button before the fryer will fire again. Always confirm which type your equipment uses before ordering: fitting a manual reset device in place of an auto-reset, or vice versa, will result in the fryer behaving incorrectly and could create a safety issue.

Installation Notes

Drain and cool the fryer completely before fitting. Remove the failed thermostat, feed the 8mm probe through the 1/4 inch tank gland, and route the 940mm capillary without kinking. Fully tighten the gland and check for oil leaks before returning the fryer to service. Gas Safe registered engineer installation is strongly recommended for all commercial gas appliance repairs.
